A few options you can browse through, and ideas to help you come up with your own…
Choosing the right name for your team is an essential step in the escape room experience. It sets the tone for the entire experience and allows your team to bond and have fun while coming up with a unique and fitting name. This is especially important if you're planning to bring in an office team to the escape room, as office team names can be a great way to bring a sense of unity and camaraderie to the experience.
One way to approach choosing a team name is to think about the theme of the escape room. If the theme is based on a popular movie or TV show, consider incorporating characters or quotes from that media into your team name. For example, if the escape room is based on the movie "The Shawshank Redemption," you could call your team "The Shawshank Escapees."
Another approach is to think about your team's strengths and personalities. If your team is full of quick-thinking problem solvers, you could call your team the "Brainiacs." Or, if your team is full of comedians and humor enthusiasts, you could choose a funny team name like "The Jokers."
Lastly, you could choose a cool name for a team that reflects your team's personality or a name that is simply catchy and memorable. Some examples of cool team names are "The Magnificent Seven", "The Fearless Four," or "The Elite Squad".
With that said, let's see what we got here...
How choosing an awesome name for your escape room team can boost your escape adventure
What is an escape room experience all about?
Well, you’ll say it’s about a lot of things: leaving behind your day-to-day life for an amazing escapade, starring in your own movie, facing a mission as the clock ticks down…and so much more.
But, one of the most important features of an escape room - what makes it so amazing - is that it’s a team experience.
A good escape room will always be designed to give every person in your group a role in the experience.
Unless you work as a team, interacting with and helping each other, you may not be able to escape the room within 60 minutes. This is a big part of how office teams benefit from doing escape rooms.
A snappy team name can create a sense of belonging
So, how do you build a strong and cool team?
Well, a lot of that’s gonna happen in the escape room but you can make a start by choosing a name for the team that everyone identifies with. (way to build the team spirit)
It’ll give them a sense of belonging, create a “it’s us against the mission” feeling and inspire them to put their best foot forward for the team.
It isn’t true that nobody cares about the team name
Some folks think that nobody cares about what the name of their team is…next to the actual escape game, the team name is trivial.
Here’s the thing: just ask a group to come up with a name for the team, and see how long it takes for them to agree on one.
How should you go about naming your team?
Selecting a name for the team can be an experience in itself.
It can lead to a lot of animated discussion, and reveal interests and aspects of your teammates that you weren’t even aware of.
Here’s a process you can follow to choose your escape room group name:
Select a theme.
Key point: Do you want a general name (as in, based on the basic escape room idea, such as Escape Nation), or do you want the name to reflect your game theme, (such as The Vanishing Act, for a magic and magician themed mission)?
Give everyone two index cards and ask them to jot down 2 alternatives for the team name…and avoid writing their names (to make it anonymous).
Throw all the options in a bowl and then start counting.
Ask everyone to keep their choices short and sweet and to try to convey a message.
